I know I keep saying this, but it is my job to continue to keep everything organized and easily accessible. A lot of documents were created over the weekend and shared to the slack channels. I downloaded, uploaded to Dropbox and named them accordingly. If needed I updated links and files to the master doc to make sure it is updated. Whenever someone in class mentions needing a spreadsheet or wanting to add something to a document or finding a certain file, I go ahead and add it so that we as a group don't forget. This included adding Weston's documents to the page, sorting out his crew sheet document and making sure to give everyone clear instructions how to name and upload it to the Dropbox for him to access. I added a tab for LED Volume tutorials so everyone can familiarize themselves with the best practices/equipment and prepare for scene optimization. I was tasked to be a backup script supervisor by the professor, so I created a template worksheet for me to fill out during filming to attach to the files once they get dumped into Dropbox so they can be properly organized. I helped Nate during class figure out how to do some preliminary lighting set ups and tests for the scene. I also started listing out a basic workflow structure of how models will be created for Unreal, the exporting and importing process, how we will prepare the scene for the stage, and steps for postproduction. I am not completely knowledgeable about all these processes, so I have been discussing with other teams the proper order and verbiage of it all. It is a bit disconcerting so see people not sharing their files correctly, I want to stress the importance of delivering correctly and on time, keeping people updated and making files understandable to not just the creator. I know in the industry, pipelines are extremely strict and failing to meet those expectations can easily get you fired. While obviously I don't want to go iron fist on everyone, I wish I could get people in the habit of this now, so they have less problem later. I have made an announcement to the class, to the slack, and Professor Diriwaechter has expressed similar concerns. If the problem continues, I will talk to team leads. I look forward to getting my hands on the Unreal file and start set dressing and lighting. We hope to see some preliminary models coming through so we can start the pre-LOD test. I will be taking extensive notes during the test to sort out what needs to be refined and worked on and ideas on how to make it more optimized.
