SANM 560 - Week 10

I connected with Matthew Ward, creator of Gearbox on linked in and sent him a link to our Hyperdoc. He was grateful I had reached out to him and loved the work we had all done. He asked me if there were any tutorials we used and so I pointed him to the tutorials page but said a lot of things were shared through word of mouth or from the professor. Other small things were just found scouring random forums from several years ago. We had a funny exchange with that:

I was given editing access to the website via Danci. I started adding all the information I have gathered to the website such as crew information. I have to edit the photos to be in a square as well as often brighten the image. I also made some aesthetic adjustments as well here and there which may have caused some issues. Pranav and I discussed some details of the poster and how it could be improved. I have a feeling some of this project will spill into winter break, but I am okay with that. I do think it will be hard to get in contact with certain parts of the team once the class ends so I hope that doesn't cause any major issues. I backed up the slack, but it recorded everything in very long files of code that were basically unreadable. So instead, I downloaded every relevant file and link that was put in the chat and added it to our Hyperdoc or Dropbox. I reorganized all the files on Dropbox because it had gotten pretty messy during our big crunch week 7. Also went in and renamed a bunch of files to fit the naming conventions. Through this I have been collecting lots of photos for the website and dropping them in to the appropriate

sections in the breakdown. During class I made sure to check in with all the tasks everyone had to make sure everyone felt good and confident in their roles. I have tried to emphasize that I understand everyone gets busy, especially around finals. While it is embarrassing to admit you are unable to do the work assigned to you, it is worse to not do it and not communicate that with the team. If you do communicate it before the deadline, we can pass it over to someone else and still meet the deadline and all will be fine. We ran into this issue so many times during this project where we would show up to class expecting something done and it hadn't even been started which was frustrating, but thankfully we have always figured something out. I only have a few people left for the website to add and Danci and I will continue to work on the website over break if needed. Thank you again professor for putting this altogether, I really appreciate how hard you pushed for this class at SCAD and how hard you pushed us to continuously be better. This is what I have been looking to do for a very long time, and it is so satisfying to see it work out and actually gain experience that will be very helpful for me and everyone else in the future. THANK YOU!
