After having issues in Unreal I moved over to Maya to recreate the lighting and copy over all the attributes from the camera. I found a simple grass mesh for the subtle green bounce on the ball. I also had to adjust the shader of the ball as it did not export properly from Unreal. I have been using an animated image plane to match the movement of the player's foot to the animation. Initially I had the ball stationary before the big kick, set up as a penalty shot. But I was requested to put the ball into motion a little bit before to match the shot before. I have been looking at a lot of references to get the spin and movement of the ball right. I was requested to add the slightest bit of curve to the ball, so there is a bit of that as well. I also exported an hdri from Unreal and added it to the sky sphere used in the Maya scene. I still have some animation tweaks in terms of movement and rotation as well as lighting. I will crank the samples once I get the final approval from my team to get rid of the motion blur artifacting.
